UMC Appeal

Dear Parents, Ex-students, Well-wishers,

Greetings from the Management of Ramakrishna Mission, Fiji.

 

We hope you have visited the Universal Meditation Centre at Swami Vivekananda College. This unique facility has been built to train the students in the art of control and concentration of their minds. We all know that everything depends on the mind. A properly trained mind is a wonderful and powerful source of success, happiness, creativity, peace, etc. However when the mind is not properly trained, then it becomes a source of failure, misery, etc. It is best that this training is given in the early years of youth.

Therefore, to empower our students in the best possible way to get the best out of their lives and triumph over all challenges that will come in life, we at Ramakrishna Mission, Fiji felt it was most important to develop the control and concentration of the minds of the youth. With this vision the Universal Meditation Centre was established and the students have been receiving systematic training in meditation since the beginning of this year. So far the feedback from the students and teachers has been very positive. It is our sincere hope and prayer that with 4-5 years of such training, these young men and women will be the future leaders in every field who will steer us to a better Fiji.

The project has cost us about $2.1 Million and has been financed through a bank loan. We have been able to pay off about 75% of the costs.

We now seek your active and generous assistance to pay the balance. We welcome all suggestions and contributions – donations, ideas on fund-raising, networking with donors who may wish to support this noble project etc. Please note that Ramakrishna Mission is a registered charitable trust (Regn # 896) and all donations are exempt from income tax and will be acknowledged with a receipt.
